PROJECT BRIEF

When Mr. Ruchit and Mr. Ankit, two young entrepreneurs, approached us, their café brand Size Zero had potential but lacked a strong design identity. Their vision was to create a youthful, vibrant, grey-and-yellow themed café that could be easily replicated across franchise outlets. The space had to be budget-friendly yet expressive, stand out against competitors like Hocco and Tea Post, and feel social-media ready so that youngsters, couples, and groups of friends would naturally gather there. As the brand evolved from multi-cuisine QSRs to exclusive Rooftop Cafés, the challenge grew: the design needed to be adaptable, scalable, and consistent, while elevating the overall customer experience.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

At Shades and Shapes, we built Size Zero’s design DNA from scratch. The grey-and-yellow palette became the brand’s signature, striking a balance between vibrancy and sophistication. Every element furniture, lighting, wall treatments, and quirky corners was created with modularity and replication in mind. To make spaces youth-centric and social media ready, we used expressive elements like neon signage, patterned tiles, greenery, and playful wall graphics. These details gave every café a unique charm while being cost-efficient for franchise rollouts. When the brand shifted to Rooftop Cafés, the design language was adapted for open-air settings. The same palette extended to lounges, gazebos, and patterned outdoor flooring, ensuring consistency across formats while making each outlet cozy and inviting.

COMPLITION

The result was a scalable, recognizable, and budget-friendly café identity that could easily expand across Gujarat and beyond. From quirky indoor corners to expansive rooftop lounges with city views, every outlet became more than just a dining space it became an experience-driven hangout. The modular design approach ensured fast execution without losing consistency, allowing the brand to expand rapidly. Today, with 25+ outlets, Size Zero has cemented its identity as a youthful, Instagram-ready café that delivers the same energy and vibe across every location.
